 Herts Young Homeless Group

The specific issue the group deals with.
 They support young people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness in Hertfordshire.

The group's mission statement.
 To prevent homelessness by empowering individuals to make positive, informed choices. To support young people, those in crisis and individuals at risk of becoming homeless.

Goals that the group strives to achieve.
 To decrease the number of young homeless or help them.

Concrete ways that the NGO tries to achieve its goals.
 HYHG services are open to all 16 – 24 year olds who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.  They support those young people, for example, charity, giving information or education, and various volunteer.

How the group is different from others in its goals or methods?
 This group limits to young homeless people.

How does the group keep itself running (i.e., by fund-raisning activities, donations, etc.)?
 They keep running by fund-raising activities.

 They regularly run a number of fundraising events, including sponsored sleepouts, cake sales and quizes.

 We should send a mail to manager to add our e-mail address into mailing list.Or we should call this group.

 They have a blog. We can see clealy what they are doing.

What's your overall impression of the group? Is it a group that you would ever consider joining?
 They think that the main cause of homelessness in young people is through family breakdown.  So they say they should help those young people. And I think so too.  I agree their idea in its entirety.

The poor economy affects homeless people, Too. With a rising jobless rate more people are becoming homeless and homeless people face tougher competition for jobs.

There're 774 members and published in Novenber 17 in 2001.

In this group, I can get many information about homelessness. 1 thing I found out is homelessness became a social problem nearly 2000. Because both groups were published in near 2000.
